As part of today's running around, we also picked up pretty much everything for our garden. Because of the rain, we couldn't get things in the ground today, so we'll have to do that over the week or next weekend.

I also learned that rainy days are the best days to visit nurseries.

So what's your rainy day nursery luck?

I went out in the rain to the farmers market (Berger Center parking lot, down south) and got a LOT of neat things that I think would have been picked over and gone much earlier, if it hadn't been for the rain. So now I've got catnip and STRAWBERRIES (a plant!) and other nifties.

We went to Shoal Creek Nursery over on Hancock and to Howard Nusrsery on Ave F and Koening. We picked up tomatoes and peppers and some herbs for the vegetable garden. The one thing we didn't find was cucumbers. We also picked up a bunch of flowering plants for various beds around the house.

The main lucky thing was that since it was raining, the nurseries weren't packed with people and completely out of vegetables.
